Occupational therapy is a treatment that helps individuals achieve independence in all areas of life. Common occupational therapy interventions include helping children with disabilities to participate fully in school and social situations, helping people recovering from injury to regain skills, and providing supports for older adults experiencing physical and cognitive changes.

Typical conditions that benefit from occupational therapy include:

  • work related injuries
  • repetitive stress injuries
  • vision or cognitive problems that threaten the ability to drive
  • injuries from falls, sports or accidents
  • limitations resulting from:
    ~ stroke or heart attack
~ neurological disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis
~ physiological disorders such as arthritis
    ~ burns
    ~ spinal cord injuries
    ~ amputations
